Now, the mentor has surfaced at the struggling Tanzanian outfit, hoping to turn their fortunes around.
The experienced tactician was spotted with the team during their crucial 1-0 victory over Kagera Sugar at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya yesterday.
The win provided a much-needed boost for KenGold, who currently sit at the bottom of the Tanzanian Premier League standings.
Heric has signed a six-month contract with the club, with his primary goal being to steer them away from the drop zone.
A source close to the club confirmed to the Siya crew that there is an option to extend the contract depending on the team's performance.
"There is an option for the contract to be renewed. But for now, it's a short-term deal with the focus on the club to avoid relegation," the source revealed.

Heric now finds himself in the same league as fellow well-known coach Fadlu Davids, who is leading Simba SC in a title battle against Young Africans.
KenGold fans will hope his experience proves decisive in their fight for survival.
