The Soweto giants were boosted by the return of captain Yusuf Maart from suspension, taking the place of Samkelo Zwane who is serving a one-game suspension while Bradley Cross replaced Happy Mashiane at left-back.

On the side of SuperSport, coach Gavin Hunt handed starts to former Chiefs attacking duo Samir Nurkovic and Christian Saile in an attempt to end their four-game winless run in the league.

Nurkovic would have his say after just three minutes by turning home Ghampani Lungu's cross in the six-yard box for his second league goal after the Chiefs defence were caught napping out wide.

The former Chiefs players were making their mark as Saile broke free down the left before picking out an un-marked Lungu, who saw his acrobatic volley cleared off the line by Ruswhin Dortley just before the 20-minute mark.

However, the home side got back on level terms in the 30th minute as Pule Mmodi saw his initial strike saved by Goss but he regrouped and picked out Makabi Lilepo, who towered over his marker to head home his second league goal.

Chiefs' joy only lasted a minute as SuperSport restored their lead a minute later as Nurkovic turned provider down the right to pick out Saile, who made no mistake against his former side with a neat finish.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi responded with a double change for Chiefs at the start of the second half, as Cross and Maart made way for Happy Mashiane and George Matlou.

Chiefs dominated possession in the second half but they conceded a third goal just after the hour mark when goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma could only push a cross into the path of Lungu, who sent a powerful strike into the back of the net.

Things went from bad to worse for the home side after Gaston Sirino was given his marching orders after 69 minutes after picking up his second yellow card of the contest.

SuperSport showed now signs of slowing down and rounded off the scoring with six minutes left on the clock as Brooklyn Poggenpoel teed up Siphesihle Ndlovu, who sent a superb strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.
