The story
Langerman made some shock revelations during his time with both Tshwane clubs, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Langerman first made his mark in the PSL with the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2009, where he played as a forward and was the top goalscorer before a mid-season transfer.
He then moved to SuperSport United, where he was converted to a right-back established himself as one of the top defenders in the country.
The 38-year-old featured on Thandani 'Bibo' Ntshumayelo's Trap Pass Podcast and spoke candidly about his first exposure to witchcraft in football.
"At Bidvest Wits, I never encountered such things because there were a lot of white and coloured players, so we did not do rituals.
"Then I moved to SuperSport United, no man, there were some players from Limpopo. In my second week there, I'm on the pitch but all I see is water ahead of me, I don't see other players, I see water. The game was on and I stopped because you can't play in a pool of into water, so I froze," shared Langerman.
Langerman went on to credit the late Matsatsantsa assistant coach, Thomas Madigage for getting him out of the situation.
"Luckily enough, do you know who saw me? the late Thomas Madigage. They prayed for me using water and I came back fine. I was playing well, but those things [visuals] came back again.
"Even when I was sleeping, I would see snakes. I couldn't sleep and I would go into a game feeling tired," stated Langerman, who also admitted to owning a pet snake.
Following a short spell at SuperSport, he was snapped up by Sundowns in 2012. Langerman enjoyed a successful stint at Downs from 2014 to 2021, winning several major trophies, including the 2016 CAF Champions League and six league titles.
The left-back spent seven years with the Brazilians, making over 250 appearances, scoring seven goals, and providing 24 assists during his time at the club.
He also shared an interesting story about his time at Chloorkop; how Pitso Mosimane encouraged players to purchase homes and how the club owner Patrice Motsepe assisted him with his property.
