Manchester United's poor Premier League campaign continued after losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.

Result: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Manchester United
Date: 16 February 2025
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
The Red Devils were hit with a number of absentees as Adam Diallo is set to miss the rest of the season, while Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro, Christian Eriksen also missed out on the day.
Joshua Zirkzee, Casemiro and Mathjis De Ligt were recalled to the line-up, while Ruben Amorim named eight teenagers on the bench, none of which have top-flight experience.
It was the home side who made the better start after opening the scoring on 13 minutes when Andre Onana could only parry Lucas Bergvall's cross back into play, where James Maddison was on hand to slot home.
The Red Devils should have levelled matters ten minutes later when Bruno Fernandes played in Alejandro Garnacho in the box but with only Guglielmo Vicario to beat, the Argentine sent his effort well over the crossbar.
That proved to be the final clear-cut opening of the half as Amorim's charges struggled to keep their foot on the ball whenever they pushed forward.
United came out livelier in the second half and had a couple chances through Garnacho to get back on level terms, but the Argentine forward was denied by Vicario on both occasions in the opening 15 minutes.
The visitors continued pressing for the equaliser and went close on 72 minutes when Noussair Mazraoui's fine cross found the run of Zirkzee, who sent his glancing header wide of the upright.
However, there would be no late comeback for the Red Devils, who slip to 15th spot after a 12th league defeat, while Spurs complete the double over their Manchester counterparts.
