Ex-Sundowns Coach Off To Losing Start In Libya

A former Mamelodi Sundowns coach started his reign with Libyan side Al-Nasr on a losing note on Saturday afternoon.

Miguel Gamondi was appointed head coach at the Libyan outfit last week after parting ways with Tanzanian outfit Young Africans in November last year.

However, the Argentine was unable to make a winning start in Libya after losing 2-1 to Al-Anwar in the Libyan Premier League.

Cheikhna Samake scored the first goal of the Gamondi era but it was not enough to secure a result, as Mustapha Jibrin and Islam Al Ghennai secured the win for the home side.

The defeat sees Al-Nasr remain in second position on the Premier League standings, eight points adrift of league leaders Al Akhdar with a game in hand.

Gamondi's charges will be back in action on Wednesday evening as the will host the league leaders.

The Argentine brings a wealth of experience to the Libyan outfit, having won league titles in South Africa and Tanzania.
