Forced Changes Anticipated In Pirates Vs Sundowns Showdown

Forced Changes Anticipated In Pirates Vs Sundowns Showdown

Orlando Pirates are facing a major setback ahead of their crucial Betway Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns this Saturday, with key defender Thabiso Sesane being doubtful due to injury.

Sesane picked up a knock during Pirates' 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United on Wednesday, and his participation in the upcoming fixture is now uncertain.

The 24-year-old centre-back has been a rock at the back for the Buccaneers this season, playing a pivotal role in their defence.

Sesane's solid performances have helped maintain the team's strong defensive record, making him an integral part of the squad.

With Sundowns currently sitting six points ahead of Pirates in the league standings, Sesane's absence could be a significant blow for the team, who are hoping to close the gap and continue their push for the title.

Pirates, under the guidance of coach Jose Riveiro, have been in impressive form, but facing the defending champions without one of their key defensive figures would undoubtedly put additional pressure on the team.

Should Sesane be unavailable, the Buccaneers will need to rely on their remaining defenders including Tapelo Xoki who replaced him against Babina Noko, to step up and maintain their resilience against a Sundowns side known for their attacking prowess.

Meanwhile, in what could be another change for the Buccaneers, promising young midfielder Mohau Nkota could return for the clash against Sundowns after missing the Sekhukhune match.

Nkota was notably absent at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, which appeared to have been a strategic rest following his performance in last Saturday's fixture against Kaizer Chiefs.

The talented youngster's energy and skill will be crucial for Bucs as they look to get closer to the defending champions on points.

The 20-year-old's return to the starting line-up is highly anticipated, with Bucs fans eager to see him contribute in this high-stakes encounter.
