Khanye: Miguel Is Going To Get A Red Card In The Derby

Khanye: Miguel Is Going To Get A Red Card In The Derby

Kaizer Chiefs might struggle against Orlando Pirates, according to ex-player and now analyst Junior Khanye, as the chase for the Betway Premiership could take another turn this weekend with the gigantic clash between the two giants of South African football.

Pirates and Chiefs will meet in their first Soweto derby of the season on Saturday at FNB Stadium, with the Buccaneers aiming to reduce the six-point gap with Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the log, while for Amakhosi winning the three points could bring them closer to the pacesetters.

Based on current form and how both teams have started the season, Khanye believes that his former side could struggle in the defensive positions to deal with the red-hot Pirates attackers.

"The thing about Pirates is that they are strong in attack, and I don't think Chiefs will be able to deal with the threat they possess. There has been inconsistency in terms of how Chiefs have been lining up especially at the back and that can cost them against Pirates. Sometimes (Njabulo) Blom is playing on the right and the other times it is (Reeve) Frosler there. I think (Bradley) Cross hasn't been as solid on the left and there have been a lot of schoolboy mistakes in the defence overall. (Inacio) Miguel has been making some unnecessary mistakes and I think he is going to get a red card in this game. I've got nothing against the guy but what I have noticed about how he plays is that he tends to get too emotional, and with this going to be his first Soweto derby, he will be very lucky not to get a red card because Pirates are going to put pressure on him," said Khanye, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

"Chiefs are going into this game being the team that is under too much pressure, and it is going to be difficult for them. Pirates have been pressing teams and that's how they have managed to get it right most of the time, and I see Chiefs struggling to contain them with their back four. Pirates will play with a lot of flair, and they will attack Chiefs," Khanye added.
