The Siya crew understands that Mamelodi Sundowns are open to the departure of Thembinkosi Lorch before the close of the transfer window, but such a transfer will be easier said than done.
As revealed by Sunday World, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are looking at signing the former Orlando Pirates attacker and the Siya crew has further discovered that the player is not in the plans of head coach Miguel Cardoso, who wants to trim his squad.

Cardoso has had an opportunity to see most of the players at Sundowns since his arrival and is understood to have communicated with management over the players he won't necessarily need going forward, as he looks to build a team he wants to work with.
One of the biggest challenges for a move before the window closes, the Siya crew understands, is an agreement over a transfer fee and the salary. With the window closing tomorrow, time is against the Soweto giants to complete a move.
Lorch is understood to be one of the high earners at Chloorkop and Sundowns would still like to cash in on the player they signed in January last year from the Buccaneers.
A loan move could be a possibility, which would come with an option to buy. Chiefs have signed a few players from Sundowns over the last few years, such as Sibusiso Khumalo, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro.

If a move does not happen before the close of the window, Lorch is expected to make an exit at the end of the season, especially because the Tshwane giants could add more players to the squad going into the FIFA Club World Cup later this year.
Injury has played a part in Lorch's limited game time at Sundowns, but the player has also not forced his way into the team whenever he has been available to play. This season, he has made seven appearances in all competitions, with one goal and one assist.
A fresh start could be what the player needs to revive his career.
