Qatar SC has revealed why Percy Tau did not participate in their latest league match, despite the South African recently making his debut.

Earlier this month, the Bafana Bafana attacker called time on his career on the African continent—for the time being—when he made the switch from record continental champions Al Ahly to Qatar.
The three-time CAF Champions League winner made his debut for his new side against Al Nasr in a 5-1 loss but was not included in the matchday squad for their subsequent 1-0 victory over Al Sadd. The club has, however, since clarified the reason for his absence.
Khaled Abdullah Al Kuwari, the club's media officer, told WinWin about the 30-year-old's omission: "Percy Tau suffered a sudden health problem before the team's match against Al Sadd in the Qatari league. Before that, he was with us normally and participated in the team's last training sessions."
"Tau would have normally participated in the match between Qatar and Al Sadd, but the sudden health problem forced him to miss the match. Things did not go out of their normal context, and there is no other reason for this absence."
Al Kuwari also expressed his happiness with the players the club has acquired from Al Ahly, emphasising their enjoyment in dealing with the North African giants.
"Our experience with Al-Ahly players is good, as we have Ahmed Abdel-Qader and Percy Tau, and before them, we obtained the services of Moroccan defender Badr Banoun," he added.

"We would like to thank the Al-Ahly club's board of directors for the cooperation between us. We enjoy professional dealings with one of the most prestigious clubs, not only in the Arab world, but in the world."
