On Sunday evening, the 23-year-old attacker took to a Saudi Arabian pitch to showcase his skills. While he may have done so for Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana, the skillful attacker could soon be playing regularly in that region of the Gulf.
During the off-season, it was rumoured that teams owned by the Public Investment Fund were determined to sign the 37-capped international.
Ultimately, Los Blancos rejected all Saudi Arabian interest in their talisman, but the CEO of the Saudi Pro League, Omar Mugharbel, claims that Vinicius' arrival is inevitable.
"We don't have dreams, it's a matter of time and negotiation," the Saudi chief told Marca when asked whether Vinícius Júnior will make his way to the oil-rich kingdom.
Mugharbel expanded on the league's emphasis on bringing big names, such as the Brazilian winger, stating that the recruitment of foreign stars has always been a part of their history.
"Foreign players have always been part of Saudi teams," he added.
"In recent years, the number of possible foreign players in teams has changed. This season we have included the number of eight plus two others under 21 years of age.
"It has always been in the DNA of this league to bring in players from outside to make it more attractive.
