Last season, the Sky Blues made history as they became the first side in English top-flight history to win four successive league championships.
Going into the 2024/25 campaign, they were once again tipped as favourites for English football's holy grail, but their efforts to retain the highly coveted trophy have proven dismal in recent weeks.
The Citizens have only managed to win one of their last nine matches in the league, losing six of those in the process. This wretched run of form currently leaves Pep Guardiola's charges in seventh position, 14 points behind table-toppers Liverpool, who have played a game less.
While the Mancunians are not mathematically out of the equation to win a fifth Premier League title in a row, their central defender Manuel Akanji says that their minds are not fixated on that.
"The season is not finished but [the title] is not a target for us at the moment," the Swiss defender told Amazon Prime Sport.
"We need to focus game by game, and the next game against Leicester will not be easy as well now, in the shape we are in.

"We need to focus on the positives. We did a lot of things great. We defended well and we attacked well, but were not able to finish as well as we wanted to, or we could have scored three or four goals."
