Amid rumours the Real Madrid superstar wishes not to return to international duty due to his strained relationship with Didier Deschamps, FFF president Philippe Diallo has insisted Mbappe did want to be involved in his country's fixtures this month.
The ex-Paris Saint-Germain man was excluded from the group last week, with Deschamps saying he believed it would be best if Mbappe stayed out of international action at this time amid his struggling form in Spain.
Deschamps, speaking to reporters after his squad announcement, said the 25-year-old had ambitions to return to the set-up for their UEFA Nations League clashes against Israel and Italy.
"I believe so," Diallo replied when asked if Mbappe was eager to join up with Les Bleus.
"I especially hope that he returns as soon as possible to bring what he has already brought to the French team.
"He is an immense player who is currently in a more delicate period, as can happen. I hope that he can return to his best level as soon as possible.
"It is simply a choice by the coach who calls up the best possible squad at that time.
"He considered that the best possible squad, the best possible balance, is the selection he made. Then, that leaves us until March for Kylian to find his place in the group."
