On Sunday, the LALIGA giants issued a statement confirming that the Spain international will spend some time on the sidelines through injury.
"The first team player Lamine Yamal picked up a knock to his right ankle in Wednesday's game against Crvena Zvezda," it read.
"Over the last few days he has followed a course of treatment but the problem persists.
"The player is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return."
The statement was released ahead of Barcelona's 1-0 league loss away at Real Sociedad on Sunday night.
This means the Blaugrana's only two defeats in LALIGA this season so far have come without Lamine Yamal being named in the starting XI.
Despite his age, the winger has proven to be an important player for Hansi Flick's side, but is now likely to return to action after the international break.
Lamine was named in Spain's squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League games, though is expected to be declared unavailable following Barcelona's confirmation of his injury.
