With just a few months before his contract comes to an end, Mamelodi Sundowns have opened talks with one of their influential midfielders, the Siya crew has been informed.
Siya sources close to the club have indicated that the Brazilians are believed to have started negotiating a new deal with Chilean player Marcelo Allende.

Insiders close to the club added that the team is looking at another three-year deal for Allende, which is expected to be tabled to the former Arsenal trainee.
"They don't want to wait until it's too late, like they did with other players, like Teboho Mokoena and Grant Kekana. That's why they have opened up talks with Allende for his new contract. It is believed that it's another three-year deal, straight with no option. Which means that if all goes according to plan he could be at the club until June 2028. That's what the club is working on," the Siya source stated.
A second source stated that Sundowns know Allende could attract interest from other clubs if they wait for him, as such, delaying the matter could lead to him becoming a free agent.

"You know if nothing happens until January then he could sign a pre-contract with another club and join them as a free agent in July. So, Sundowns are working on avoiding that and that's why they are looking at agreeing on a new deal as soon as they can, hence they opened up talks already," the second source told the Siya crew.
The 25-year-old Chilean has already played a few games this season, while last season he played a fair amount of fixtures considering how difficult it is to be a regular at Masandawana.
Sundowns are expected to work to secure Allende's future at the club, which highlights their commitment to retaining key players. Fans will be eager to see if the negotiations result in a new deal that keeps the talented midfielder at Chloorkop in the long term.
