Chivaviro, Nku & Co To Receive Big Payouts

Chivaviro, Nku & Co To Receive Big Payouts

Marumo Gallants have been dealt a big blow with the club having been ordered to pay 11 players for monies owed, but the Siya crew understands that there could be more on the list.

The likes of Ranga Chivaviro, Katlego Otladisa, Lesiba Nku and Lucky Mohomi are set to receive money owed to them by Gallants, as the PSL DRC ordered the club to pay bonuses owed to them from their 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Some of the other players who are expected to receive money are Letsie Koapeng, Mahlatse Makudubela and Tshepo Gumede, but the Siya crew understands that there are a few more players who are looking to receive their money from the club.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Abram Ngcobo has been fighting to receive his money from Gallants and it's believed that his case is currently at arbitration at SAFA.

Ngcobo was part of the squad during that time and he is one of the other players Gallants may need to fork out money for in the coming weeks. Indications are that the list of players could grow, with the Siya crew being informed that the cases of Lehlohonolo Nonyane and Lebogang Mabotja are ongoing.

The case has dragged on for quite some time, with players fighting to get bonuses that were agreed upon with management during their Confederation Cup run, which saw them surprisingly go all the way to the semi-finals, where they lost out to Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga).

As semifinalists, Gallants received $750 000 (R13 283 000) and indications are that they have to pay the 11 players $7031 each (R124 000). Should Gallants be unable to pay, then the Siya crew understands that the PSL will take money from their monthly grant to ensure the players are paid.

It's believed that the agreement at the time was that players would receive 30 percent of the money CAF awarded to Gallants.
