The city of Marrakech, in Morocco, will once again celebrate the continent's best players and teams as that will be the host city for the latest edition of the CAF Awards.
The continent's football governing body has released the 10 names for each category that will contest the various prizes for both the men and the women.
While there is plenty of South African representation – Ronwen Williams is vying for three awards, Hugo Broos for the Coach of the Year prize, Bafana Bafana for the National Team of the Year accolade and Mamelodi Sundowns for the Club of the Year award – there are some other massive names also in contention for the aforementioned titles.
In the Men's Player of the Year category, we will have a new winner as Nigeria's Victor Osimhen has been excluded from the list of nominees.
Instead, his compatriot, and Atalanta talisman, Ademola Lookman and Morocco's Achraf Hakimi headline the shortlist for what can perhaps be regarded as the biggest award on the night.

We will also have a new Men's Interclub Player of the Year after last year's winner, Percy Tau, was not included in the 10-man shortlist for that accolade. Two of his teammates could walk away with the gong, though, as Egypt's Hussein El Shahat and Mostafa Shobeir are in the running to keep the title in Cairo.
There have been some notable omissions from some of the categories, however.
Raja Club Athletic, who did not compete in any continental competition last season but did manage to complete the entire league season unbeaten were not included in the Club of the Year category.

For the Player of the Year prize, Morocco and Real Madrid's Brahim Diaz was omitted even though he helped his club win the LALIGA and the UEFA Champions League titles, while Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface was also not selected for the prize despite playing a major role in helping his club finish the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign without suffering defeat and winning the league.
