Check Out: Man Utd Make 'New' Ten Hag Decision
Manchester United fans are still left in the dark regarding Erik ten Hag's future, even after a much-needed win against Brentford in the Premier League this past weekend.
The Red Devils are reportedly eyeing Xavi as a potential successor to the Dutchman, having reached out to the 44-year-old "twice in the last few months", as per the Daily Mail.
Xavi, who parted ways with Barcelona at the conclusion of last season, has expressed a desire to avoid coaching in Spain for the time being.
Ten Hag, 54, is feeling the heat following a frustrating start to the season, with pressure mounting from all sides.
INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has acknowledged that the club is not where it aims to be, yet he has made it clear that the decision to sack Ten Hag does not rest with him.
While United's recent victory over Brentford will have provided some relief, Ten Hag understands that the speculation surrounding his future will persist unless he can significantly turn around both the results and performances at Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions will be in UEFA Europa League action on Thursday in Turkey, where they will take on Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce.
United are yet to win in Europe so far this season, after drawing 1-1 with FC Twente and 3-3 with Porto in their opening two matches.
Xavi, meanwhile, has not worked since his departure from Barcelona, after taking charge of 143 matches between 2021 and 2024.
