Ranga Given Valuable Advice After Goal Celebration

Ranga Given Valuable Advice After Goal Celebration

A former Kaizer Chiefs player has given valuable advice to striker Ranga Chivaviro, who appeared to be hitting back at his critics after scoring against SuperSport United over the weekend.

Chivaviro bagged Amakhosi's third goal in a 4-0 drubbing of Matsatsantsa in the Carling Knockout last 16 clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday and then followed that up with a celebration that was evidently directed at supporters who were jeering him during the match for some of the opportunities he was unable to convert.

Anyone who has played for Amakhosi would know that supporters of the club are hard to please and shutting them out is the best way to go about business, especially as a striker. As a defender during his playing days, Mokete Tsotetsi bore the brunt of Amakhosi supporters and is well aware of the negative impact their criticism can have, which is why he has the stressed the importance of Chivaviro focusing on his game, rather than trying to retaliate.

"I saw the game and he missed so many and he was in the right positions at the right time. But the good thing is, as a striker, is that he is always there (in the good positions). My advice to him is to focus on his game and focus on bettering himself. He has been scoring lately and he is working hard and the technical team is happy with what he is given them," Tsotetsi said to the Siya crew.

"For him to want to answer the supporters is not worth it because he needs to focus on his game and make sure that he improves. I saw the supporters booing him, but it's important to focus on his game. Look at the goal he scored. It was a marvelous goal. He must continue working hard and see where he can improve. He is someone who can score goals and he needs to be mentally strong. He should not let supporters play with his mind or else he will end up losing concentration and lose confidence in himself."
