Kaizer Chiefs booked their spot in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals with a 4-0 victory over SuperSport United on Saturday evening.
Carling Knockout
Result: SuperSport United 0-4 Kaizer Chiefs
Date: 19 October 2024
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Chiefs made only one change following their loss against Mamelodi Sundowns, as Samkelo Zwane took the place of Edson Castillo, with Gaston Sirino, Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba supporting Ranga Chivaviro upfront.
Neither side took the game by the scruff of the neck in the early exchanges, although SuperSport were more threatening going forward.

However, Amakhosi had the first clear chance just before the half-hour mark after Duba's chip in the box beat goalkeeper Ricardo Goss but came off the underside of the crossbar.
At the other end two minutes later, debutant Tashreeq Morris was unfortunate not to break the deadlock for United with a free header in the box that came off the post.
As the game opened up, Sirino eventually sent Chiefs ahead on 33 minutes with a left-footed shot on the edge of the box that left Goss flat-footed at his near post.
Amakhosi were playing on counter-attacks after that and Chivaviro had a big chance on the stroke of half-time after going clear on goal but he fired his shot just wide, one-on-one with Goss.
Nasreddine Nabi's charges had a perfect start in the second stanza as eight minutes from the break Yusuf Maart doubled their lead with a header at the near post after a corner by Sirino.
Gavin Hunt's men were fired up after the hour-mark, as they pressurized Amakhosi and with 20 minutes to go, Morris had a wonderful opportunity to reduce the deficit with a free header in the box but his effort sailed over the crossbar.
United, however, were caught and punished on a counter-attack on 73 minutes after Chivaviro made it 3-0 for Chiefs with a powerful shot in the box after a cut-back by Duba.
Nabi could afford to rest the likes of Sirino, Chivaviro and Maart, as Mfundo Vilakazi, Ashley Du Preez and Edson Castillo were brought on.
Things got worse for Matsatsantsa in the last ten minutes after they were down ten men following the dismissal of Gape Moralo, who got a second yellow card and was sent off.
The Glamour Boys were comfortable in the dying minutes as Du Preez made it 4-0 in added time after a through ball, as they cruised to the quarter-finals.
