The Argentina captain recently claimed his 46th team title when he won the 2024 Supporters' Shield with Inter Miami, extending his record as the player with the most trophies in history.
Director of the publication Juan Ignacio Gallardo, who handed the award over to Messi, said at the event that he knows he will not have to give this kind of recognition to another footballer again.
Messi was thrilled to have been honoured by the famous publication.
"Thank you very much for this recognition, both the work and the drawing," he said.
"I know it was with great affection because of what they told me and we are going to find a little place for it because it deserves it."
The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner was also asked if he has plans to go to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States with Argentina.
"Things pass by and I don't get ahead of myself. I try to enjoy day by day. When the time, comes we'll see, I don't like to accelerate times," he responded.
