Gayton McKenzie – South Africa's Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture – has commented on the progress of Bafana Bafana under coach Hugo Broos.
Following this round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Bafana are sitting second in Group K after picking up four points in their two matches against Congo.

Having defeated Congo 5-0 in their home fixture at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Friday, Bafana played to a 1-1 in Brazzaville on Tuesday, which has probably slightly delayed their qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, McKenzie said he delights in Bafana's progress under Broos.
"I was a guest speaker there and we introduced everybody to SAFA, and we then touched on VAR then they continued with their meeting. I think by the results, Bafana Bafana have got a coach that's doing a brilliant job, and you've got brilliant people in the team. So, I think SAFA is doing a good job with Bafana Bafana and the women's soccer team. You know, I go on results, and I don't go on people's feelings and sentiments. The results are there, and you saw what we did, we demolished the other team (Congo) there. I'm beyond being proud," said McKenzie.
