Spain Advance To Last 8, Ronaldo's Portugal Held!

Spain 3-0 Serbia

Spain booked their spot in the quarter-finals after drubbing ten-man Serbia 3-0 Estadio Nuevo Arcángel.

Spain made three changes from their narrow win over Denmark, as Marc Cucurella, Mikel Merino and Alex Baena, who took the place of the injured Lamine Yamal, were brought in.

Aymeric Laporte got the opener for Spain just after five minutes with a header towards the bottom corner.

Alvaro Morata should have made it 2-0 for La Roja early in the second stanza with a spot-kick but skied his effort over the crossbar.

Morata, however, made amends on 65 minutes after he doubled the lead for Spain with a strike into the bottom corner.

Serbia were reduced to ten 13 minutes before time after Strahinja Pavlovic had a yellow card upgraded to red by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a bad tackle.

Alex Baena put the game beyond doubt for La Roja moments later with a sublime free-kick.

Spain topped the group by three points while Serbia are three points off second-placed Denmark with two rounds of matches to play.

Scotland 0-0 Portugal

Portugal are all but secured a spot in the quarter-finals after a goalless draw against Scotland in League A1 at Hampden Park.

The Selecao made six changes, as Bernardo Silva, Diogo Jota, Joao Cancelo, Vitinha, Joao Palinha and Francisco Conceicao were recalled.

Portugal had a number of chances in the first stanza but were let down by their finishing.

Scotland came to the game in the second stanza but Roberto Martinez's charges finished strongly, only for goalkeeper Craig Gordon to have the final say.

Portugal opened a three-point lead at the top of the group while The Tartan Army are at the bottom and are facing relegation to League B.

Poland 3-3 Croatia

Ten-man Croatia missed the chance to qualify with two games to go after a 3-3 draw against Poland PGE Narodowy.

Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring for Poland within the first five minutes with a strike from the edge of the box and Borna Sosa levelled matters for Croatia after 19 minutes with a strike from a rebound.

Petar Sucic gave The Chequered Ones the lead five minutes later with a shot from a through ball and Martin Baturina made it 3-1 moments later.

Nicola Zalewski pulled a goal back for Poland on the stroke of half-time and Sebastian Szymanski eventually equalised for the hosts 22 minutes before time.

Croatia were down to ten men with 14 minutes to go after Dominik Livakovic was red-carded for serious foul play.

The Chequered Ones remained in second place and three points ahead of third-placed the Eagles in the group.

Switzerland 2-2 Denmark

Denmark missed the chance to seal a spot in the knockout stages after a 2-2 draw against Switzerland in League A4 at Kybunpark.

Remo Freuler broke the deadlock for Switzerland just before the half-hour mark with a strike from a rebound but Gustav Isaksen levelled matters moments later after a through ball by Christian Eriksen.

Zeki Amdouni gave the Swiss the lead on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot but Eriksen salvaged a point for the visitors with the equaliser 21 minutes before time after a mix up in the box.

Denmark remained second on the table, three points behind leaders Spain and three points ahead of third-placed Serbia.

Switzerland remained at the bottom, without a win and are facing the prospect of relegation to League B.
