The German tactician left African football just a few months ago to pursue greener pastures in the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
While the 54-year-old achieved historic success with Raja Club Athletic during the 2023/24 season, winning the Botola Pro Inwi and Moroccan Throne Cup without suffering a single loss, he has struggled to replicate that form in the Saudi Pro League.
Since taking charge of Al Wehda, Zinnbauer has managed only one win in the league, and has suffered some heavy defeats.
Perhaps his most notorious loss was against Al Ittihad, who beat the Knights of Mecca 7-1 on the third matchday of the campaign.
Zinnbauer is now under tremendous pressure, and faces the possibility of being fired.
There is another manager in Morocco who faces the genuine possibility of being sacked, and that is AS FAR's Czeslaw Michniewicz.
According to 365Scores, the Moroccan giants are unhappy with the team's recent form in the league under the Polish tactician and are close to sacking him, with Zinnbauer being tipped as the club's prime candidate to replace Michniewicz.
The former Poland head coach did, however, successfully guide the Black Army to qualification for the group stage of the Champions League, the first time they have achieved this feat since the 2006/07 campaign.

Should FAR decide to hire Zinnbauer, the Schwandorf native would go up against Sundowns in African football's premier club competition, as well as his former side, Raja, as they all have been drawn in Group B.
