Reports suggest the former Manchester United boss has turned down the chance to take over as Denmark national team manager, nearly three years after his departure from the Red Devils.
The 51-year-old Norwegian has been out of the management game since his sacking by the Mancunians in November 2021 following a disheartening 4-1 loss to Watford that sealed his fate at Old Trafford.
According to Danish news outlet Tipsbladet, Solskjaer was approached to succeed Kasper Hjulmand, but has opted to pursue a different path instead.
It is claimed the ex-United boss is in discussions with a "major club" and could be poised for a return to management sooner rather than later.
Solskjaer recently said publicly he would be open to returning to the 20-time English champions amid the uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag's future at the Theatre of Dreams.
United went into this international break 14th in the Premier League, having won just two of their opening seven matches of the campaign.
The Norwegian took charge of United on 19 occasions as an interim manager between December 2018 and March 2019, before being handed the role permanently.
