Evergreen Billiat Scores On SA Return

Namibia 0-1 Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe got their first victory in Group J after edging Namibia 1-0 at Orlando Stadium.

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Khama Billiat scored the only goal for the Warriors ten minutes before the break from the penalty spot.

The likes of Peter Shalulile of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates' Deon Hotto were in the line-up for Namibia but they could not prevent the defeat.

Zimbabwe moved up to the top of the table by one point with five points, although, although they have played an extra game than Kenya and Cameroon, who are both tied on four points.

The Brave Warriors lost their third game in as many matches and are rooted at the bottom of the section.

Cape Verde 0-1 Botswana

Botswana finally got their Group C campaign off the mark after a narrow 1-0 win over Cape Verde at Estadio da Varzea.

Tumisang Orebonye's goal in just the second minute went all the way to secure the first victory and points for the Zebras.

Botswana and Cape Verde are three points off leaders Egypt, who have a game in hand and both are equal also on points with Mauritania, who also have an outstanding game.

Ghana 0-0 Sudan

Ghana's search for their first victory in Group F continued after they were held to a goalless draw by Sudan at Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars only have two points from three games in the section and are four points behind leaders Angola, who have a game in hand.

Sudan, meanwhile, remained two points ahead of Ghana in second spot.

Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 Tanzania

Democratic Republic of Congo extended their perfect start in Group H to three matches after a narrow 1-0 win over Tanzania at Stade des Martyrs.

An own goal by Cement Mzize early in the second stanza was enough to maintain a winning start for DR Congo, who also extended their lead at the top of the mini-log to five points.

Tanzania remained in second spot with four points.
