Luciano Spalletti's Italy remain in 10th place in the international standing following impressive victories over France and Israel in the UEFA Nations League earlier this month.
Their win over the 2018 FIFA World Cup champions was particularly noteworthy as it came at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
Losing finalists of the 2024 Copa America Colombia, meanwhile, follow Italy in ninth place after they drew with Peru and beat world champions Argentina in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal stayed in eighth spot in the ranking, with the Netherlands and Belgium occupying places seventh and sixth, respectively, while five-time World Cup champions Brazil are unmoved in fifth.
The Selecao have battled for form in recent games as they currently find themselves in fifth place in the CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup qualifiers, having worryingly won only three of their eight matches at this stage.
England still rank fourth in FIFA's latest standing, with 2024 UEFA European Championship winners Spain third, Didier Deschamps' France in second and South American giants Argentina first.
