There has been information on what could be expected regarding the talk of the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) as a match official in the PSL.
Some reports have suggested that VAR could be used during this year's MTN8 final as Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC are scheduled to battle it out for the R10 million prize money and trophy at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium.

There have been several calls from local football supporters for the use of the technology system to counteract questionable officiating.
Reports in local media have suggested that SAFA and the PSL could look to adopt the system, which assists the referee by reviewing decisions using video footage, with speculation rife that the technology will be used during the MTN8 final.
With the eagerly awaited fixture between the two in-form sides a little over two weeks away, the Siya crew has gathered information from sources privy to refereeing issues in the PSL and SAFA that the news on the possible VAR use in the MTN8 final isn't true.
According to sources, the implementation of the system in the local game is still far away and that there is no decision made yet on when it could be expected.

Meanwhile, the PSL confirmed that the Buccaneers have been drawn as the hosts for their fixture against Stellies, with the match scheduled to start at 18:00.
As confirmed by the League, the tickets for the final will be available for purchase from Thursday, 19 September.
