According to Youm7, the Club of the Century are intent on resolving the 30-year-old Bafana international and veteran goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy's futures.
The report claims Ahly are aiming to tie El Shenawy down to a new deal, a move everyone in the club agrees with, while there will also be attention placed on Tau.
The Egyptian Premier League champions were believed to turn down several approaches for the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns man, although it is still undecided as to whether he will leave or not.
His contract in Egypt is expected to run out in 2025.
Tau has made 109 appearances for Al Ahly since his arrival from Brighton Hove Albion in 2021, contributing to 40 goals in the process.
