Cape Town City have shared sad news involving their head coach Eric Tinkler and his family on the weekend.
Following City's 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the second leg MTN8 semi-final in Orlando on Saturday, Tinkler didn't attend the mandatory post-match press conference.

Instead, City's assistant coach Diogo Peral was the one who addressed journalists and questions had been asked on what might have led to Tinkler's absence.
The Mother City outfit has taken to it's official X account to confirm that the mentor sadly lost his mother over the weekend.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to our Head Coach, Eric Tinkler, following the passing of his mother over the weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Tinkler and his family during this incredibly difficult time. The entire Cape Town City FC family stands with you," confirmed the Citizens.
