The story
Stellenbosch FC are currently one of the most exciting teams to watch in the PSL, boasting an abundance of homegrown talent that's seen their reserve team win two DStv Diski Challenge titles in three seasons.
The senior side continued to punch above their weight under Steve Barker following a remarkable campaign last season that saw them win the Black Label Cup and qualify for the CAF Confederations Cup by finishing third in the league.
Jurgens will be keen to make his mark this season, whether it's from the right-back position or in midfield, the 20-year-old will hope for a coming-of-age campaign.
Speaking in a press conference on Monday for their first-leg MTN8 Semi-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns, Jurgens heaped praise on Stellies and claimed it's the ideal club for any young footballer to develop.
"As a youngster, this is the best club to be at. You know the facilities that we have, the coaches, the staff, the players, all the people that come together and help groom youngsters. Not just in football but mentally as well," said Jurgens, who also showed some appreciation to Barker on the faith he's shown young players:
"I think it's the best place to be at because of coach Steve giving youngsters an opportunity. And it's not easy to do that."
