The story
Former Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Cassius Mailula has rejoined Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco, following an unsuccessful year in Canada.
Mailula joins the Moroccan giants on a loan deal that runs through to July 2025 and includes a purchase option, after making just eight appearance and scoring twice for Toronto FC in all competitions.
Mailula sealing a move to Casablanca has garnered plenty of on social media, with a number of fans showing their delight over what could be a career reviving move for the 23-year-old.
"Cash" burst onto the scene at Masandawana in the 2022-2023 season, bagging 15 goals in 34 games in all competitions and earning a Bafana Bafana call-up.
With competitions like the Club World Cup, African Super League and competitive Botola Pro 1, Mailula has a golden opportunity to play himself into Hugo Broos' Bafana plans again, under a coach he's comfortable with.
