The story
Former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Rulani Mokwena is tasked with the challenging prospect of restoring Wydad Casablanca's dominance in Moroccan football and on the continental stage.
The club has been grappling with financial difficulties following the arrest of president Said Naciri, consequently, Wydad concluded the 2023/24 season without securing any trophies and missed out on qualifying for the CAF Champions League, finishing sixth in the league standings.
It seems as if Rulani and his coaching staff have already laid down some solid foundations, with the Wydad players seemingly taking well to the team's new style of play.
A video of Wydad's already impressive build-up play from the back and intricate passes has gone viral on social media, with Rulani Mokwena and his assistant Sinethemba Badela also resharing the clip online, marking the passage of play as a sign of progress.
