Les Bleus international Adrien Rabiot is currently without a club after leaving Juventus on a free transfer at the end of last month.
The midfielder has since been linked with a move to Los Blancos, although Football365 has reported that president Florentino Perez has rejected the idea of signing the 29-year-old.
It is further claimed, however, that the Real chief has suggested that the former Paris Saint-Germain man instead joins compatriot Leny Yoro in joining United.
The 18-year-old centre-back had previously been on the Spanish giants' radar until the Red Devils agreed a deal to sign him from Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
Rabiot has reportedly been a target of United's in the past, but a potential move for the former Serie A midfielder might only be made in the event of departures from Old Trafford.
