During the 2022/23 season, the Witbank native was the catalyst for the Red Devils' success both domestically and continentally, en route to claiming the latest CAF Interclub Player of the Year honour.
In this latest campaign, however, Tau has struggled to replicate that form, with injuries having curtailed a lot his 2023/24 season.

It is believed the head coach of the 43-time Egyptian champions, Marcel Koller, has also given the green light for Tau's departure.
