An Argentina international, who is known to be a big Cristiano Ronaldo fan, has responded after being accused of ignoring Lionel Messi during the 2024 Copa America final.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho made just a single appearance at the South American showpiece, but left the United States having been a part of his country's triumph.
The 20-year-old is one of just 26 players to have shared a dressing room with both Messi and Ronaldo, whom he starred alongside at Manchester United before the Portuguese superstar's free-agent move to Saudi Arabia in January 2023.
Garnacho, despite opting to play for Argentina after being born in Madrid and making appearances for Spain at junior level, has not hidden his admiration for his ex-club colleague, often mimicking his goal celebration.
Some online have even suggested his idolising of Ronaldo is controversial given his ambition of becoming a regular for the Albiceleste, with one X (formerly Twitter) user recently posting a video of his actions next to Messi on the Argentina bench.
The X user seemed to imply Garnacho was ignoring Messi, who had come off with an injury in the 61st minute of their Copa America final against Colombia, a sentiment the United winger responded to by posting a picture of himself embracing the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner.
