The story
Kaizer Chiefs are currently on their pre-season tour to Türkiye under new head coach, Nasreddine Nabi and his technical staff, signifying an exciting new era at the Soweto giants.
Two players who have likely caught the eye of Nabi and his staff are Amakhosi Youth Development products, Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala.
Vilakazi broke into Chiefs' senior team in January, making seven appearances in all competitions in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign under former interim coach, Cavin Johnson.
Nicknamed "Obrigado", the skillful Vilakazi has already built a steady cult following with the Khosi Nation, and will hope to work in tandem with the mercurial Mduduzi Shabalala.
The 20-year-old will look to certify himself as a mainstay in Chiefs' line up after being in and out of the side over the course of last season under Molefi Ntseki and Johnson.
'Mdu or Die' and 'Obrigado' are being pushed to their physical limit in pre-season and both seem to be relishing the intensity of Nabi's training sessions.
Along with sharing their views on how pre-season camp is going, Vilakazi and Shabalala also revealed what motivates them as footballers.
