Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego Mphela believes that Amakhosi should invest in the youth who will grow with the team, while making the most of experienced players.

Mphela, who was nicknamed 'Killer' for his abilities in front of gaol, has outlined that Chiefs should make transfer moves outside the borders of the country.
"Chiefs must sign international players and mix them with their youth players. The young players are the future of the team. They understand the philosophy and culture of the team. So if they can have international players mixed with the youngsters who understand the team, together with the experienced players who are already there, then the team will do well and compete this coming season," Mphela said, speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma.

The striker, who also plied his trade at Mamelodi Sundowns, added that the club should sign players with a winning mentality.
"Sirino is quality and a free agent. He is very good and has experience of winning things. He can help them a lot in that regard. Chiefs needs to sign players who are winners. Yes, they can have the youth as I have said with experienced players, but the most important thing is to look at signing players who are winners at heart. Once you do that half the job of fighting for trophies is done. They need that this season," Mphela observed.
Amakhosi are currently in Turkey on their pre-season camp and will return to play against Tanzanian side Yanga SC in the inaugural Toyota Cup at the Toyota Stadium on July 28.
The 2024/25 season will get underway August.
