The 37-year-old helped inspire the Albiceleste to a third consecutive major tournament final when he scored in their 2-0 semi-final victory over Canada on Wednesday morning.
While this Copa America could be his last competition performance for Argentina, the Inter Miami forward has insisted he has no plans to retire from international duty after the final next week Monday.
"As I've said before, I intend to continue," he said, according to the Irish Independent.
"I intend to keep living day by day without thinking about what will come in the future or whether I'll continue or not.
"It's something I just live each day. I'm 37 years and only God knows when the end will be."
Messi's second-half strike against Canada was his first of the tournament, although he has still been key for Argentina in the United States.
