France captain Kylian Mbappe has made a surprise admission about his substitution against Portugal in extra-time.
Les Bleus advanced to the semi-finals of the European Championship on Friday after defeating Portugal in a penalty shoot-out.
Mbappe, however, was not part of the penalty shoot-out after he was replaced by Bradley Barcola at the start of the second half of extra time.

The new Real Madrid signing has now admitted he could not go any longer due to fatigue.
"I asked to be taken off," Mbappé said, as per ESPN.
"At halftime in extra time, I told him [France coach Didier Deschamps] that I didn't feel it anymore, that I was too tired."
France manager Didier Deschamps also commented on Mbappe's request to be substituted.

"Yes, he's always very honest with me and the team, when he feels he doesn't have the capacity to accelerate ... He's not at his top form ... he felt very tired indeed," Deschamps added.
"I saw him struggling during the first period of extra time.
