Earlier in the transfer window, there were rumours suggesting that the Glamour Boys had explored the option of potentially appointing Portuguese tactician Alexandre Santos as their new head coach.
The 47-year-old decided to call time on his career in the Girabola with Angolan juggernauts Petro de Luanda at the end of last season, after winning his third successive league title there, and was subsequently linked with a plethora of top jobs on the continent.
The likes of Wydad Athletic Club and Chiefs were believed to be interested, but in the case of the Johannesburg-based institution, it seems they have gone in the direction of Nasreddine Nabi instead.
Now, according to Tunisian outlet Radio Mosaique FM, CS Sfaxien have pounced on the opportunity to sign the Lisbon native and are now on the brink of announcing him as their new manager.
The same report claims that Santos will arrive with an assistant coach, a physical trainer, and a person in charge of analysis to complete his technical team.

It has been 11 years since Sfaxien were last crowned Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions, so should it be confirmed he has the job, Santos would likely be expected to be tasked with ending the Esperance de Tunis hegemony. The Miguel Cardoso-led side has won eight of the last 11 titles since Sfaxien last won the league.
