The Setubal native had since been linked with a plethora of top jobs in Europe, but now the Portuguese tactician has made the surprise decision to take on a new challenge in the Super Lig, having been officially announced as the new manager of Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Despite completing the 2023/24 league season having only suffered one defeat, not winning the league title was seemingly enough for Fenerbahce chiefs to decide to part ways with Ismail Kartal, with Mourinho now set to succeed the Turk at the Ulker Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
The two-time UEFA Champions League-winning manager is said to have signed a two-year deal with the Yellow Canaries.

The Istanbul-based outfit have not won the league title since the 2013/14 season, and will be hoping Mourinho can end their domestic drought by finally holding the trophy aloft in the 2024/25 campaign.
