Kaizer Chiefs are understood to be in advanced talks with Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi, according to insiders privy to information.
On Thursday, Soccer Laduma reported how Amakhosi were close to announcing their chosen head coach with Nabi a serious contender along with Pitso Mosimane and Alexandre Santos.

The Siya crew discussed how Nabi is back on the radar as Chiefs were looking to agree to the AS FAR Rabat coach's preference to bring in his own assistants. That factor was reportedly a stumbling block as to why Nabi couldn't be brought in as Amakhosi's coach at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
Instead, the then Chiefs Head of Academy Molefi Ntseki was brought in as head coach but his tenure didn't last long before Cavin Johnson took over the hot seat on an interim basis which was effectively for the remainder of the season.
Earlier on Friday, Kickoff reported that Chiefs and Nabi had opened talks about the possibility of making the 58-year-old their new head coach.
Siya sources close to the club have now indicated that Chiefs are in advanced talks with Nabi and the deal could even be announced sooner rather than later.
The sources added that Chiefs club officials and Nabi's representatives were locked in a meeting to finalise the deal.
"You know there are other things which both parties need to agree on and that is what was discussed today. I can't say how far it went today but the deal is very close at the moment," the Siya source stated.
A second Siya source stated that the backroom staff for Nabi was part of the remaining discussions.
"Coach Nabi has his own people who he wants to bring and the team is also providing some technical team members and that's what they have to agree and compromise on. He wants his own assistant coach, goalkeeper coach and fitness trainer. I think if they can cross that bridge then the deal will be as good as done. But honestly speaking, the talks with coach Nabi are at an advanced stage now," the second Siya source told Soccer Laduma.
At the moment Nabi is still busy leading AS FAR Rabat toward the Moroccan Botola Pro 1 league title, being just a point ahead of Raja Casablanca with two games remaining. He also has the Moroccan Throne Cup to focus on, being still in the quarter-finals of that competition.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but the club had not responded by the time this story was published.
