France captain Kylian Mbappe has revealed the club he has always imagined himself playing for, and it is not Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old is expected to complete a free-agent move to Real Madrid in the coming week, after playing his last match for Paris Saint-Germain in their Coupe de France final win over Olympique Lyon last weekend.
Mbappe has said he is only a few days away from joining his new club, with reports claiming he will officially be confirmed as a Los Blancos player after the UEFA Champions League final and before the 2024 UEFA European Championship.
The Frenchman, however, speaking in an interview this week, suggested he has not totally closed the door on his lifelong dream of playing for Italian giants AC Milan despite reportedly being close to a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Italian football? You never know what happens," he told Sky Sports.
"When I was a child, I was a Milan fan and I always said that one day I would play for them.
"I always watch Serie A and every Milan match because my family and I have always been fans.
"Serie A is a great championship and next year they will also have more teams than any other in the Champions League, maybe I will face some of them and come there."
Real will take on Borussia Dortmund in the final of Europe's biggest club competition on Saturday at Wembley Stadium in England.
The 14-time European champions will be participating in the final for the 18th time in their history.
