Stellenbosch FC will be open to listening to offers for Ismael Olivier Toure at the end of the season, sources have revealed.
Toure has emerged as arguably the best defender in the league this season with his consistent performances for Stellenbosch so far.
The strong Ivorian has amassed 20 league appearances and 27 overall across all competitions, having played a crucial role in their Carling Knockout Cup triumph earlier in the campaign, and has bagged a few Man-of-the- Match awards along the way.
The 26-year-old is expected to play a pivotal role for the Winelands' outfit in their pursuit of the Nedbank Cup as they will be facing Mamelodi Sundowns in the semis next weekend.
Sources have revealed that the tough-tackling defender has been monitored by both Soweto giants in Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that Stellies are set to lose one of their exciting talents in Jayden Adams whose transfer to Sundowns is understood to be all but complete, with the midfielder expected to make the switch to Chloorkop at the end of the season in a deal understood to be in the region of around R20 million.
According to sources, Stellenbosch may look at also cash in on Toure whom they bought from Marumo Gallants at the end of the season.
"The mistake that some people have been making is saying that Ismael Toure came to the club as a free agent. He was bought by Stellenbosch from Marumo Gallants. He still had one year on his contract with Marumo when the club was relegated, and Stellenbosch bought him. The club won't want to lose him for free and he is still contracted," said the source.
"We are talking here of a player who has attracted interest from the big clubs. Pirates and Chiefs are both interested in the player's services although an overseas move isn't being ruled out for him. Stellenbosch won't stand on his way if a right offer comes, as that's not how the club operates," said the source.
