At the beginning of the season, it seemed the Tunisian tactician could become Amakhosi's newest managerial appointment.
Ultimately, those negotiations were never completed and the 58-year-old instead decided to join reigning Botola Pro champions FAR Rabat.
While the pressure to retain the title may have been substantial following his domestic treble success in Tanzania with Young Africans, Nabi is mounting a sizeable challenge to retain the championship, with his team embroiled in a title race with former Orlando Pirates manager Josef Zinnbauer's Raja Club Athletic.
It is this form that has caught the attention of another African giant, though, with Soccer Laduma having been informed that fellow Moroccan rivals Wydad Athletic Club are now looking to acquire Nabi's services.
The Red Castle recently witnessed Faouzi Benzarti's exit from the club after the team's poor run of form under his guidance, making him the fifth managerial departure from the club in the space of about a year, and they now want to bring his compatriot in as they look to re-establish themselves as a force at the summit of Moroccan football.
Sources close to the manager have revealed that given the unstable nature of Wydad and their recent managers, Nabi is more inclined to pursue a more long-term project akin to what he had in Tanzania with Young Africans.
