FIFA To Resurrect Video Game Series?

Football's governing body FIFA may have found a developer for a new football video game series, over a year after their divorce with EA Sports.

The story

FIFA is reportedly working on resurrecting their football video game franchise with 2K Games, to rival the new EA Sports FC.

This season marks the first year without a new FIFA game in three decades, after Electronic Arts gave up the FIFA licence back in 2022.

As mentioned overseas reports, a reliable gaming leaker, who has a good track record of correctly predicting upcoming games and other updates, has mentioned that FIFA is now working with 2K Games.

2K Games is known for sports games like NBA 2K24 and WWE 2K24. Despite 2K's huge library of sports games, it hasn't produced a football video game for several years.

Losing the FIFA license seems to have not slowed down or damaged EA Sports' reputation as the publisher of the best, and realistically, only football game that the masses enjoy.

The change of title to EA Sports FC 24 has been more seamless than many would have predicted, and differing slightly from FIFA 23.

It's been reported that EA did not want to pay FIFA's asking price for the license and decided they had enough fans to kickstart their own game without the football world governing body.

The FIFA licensed football games reportedly generated over R382 billion in the last two decades....
