Following Bayern Munich's 3-0 loss to Bundesliga title contenders Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend, the Portuguese tactician is believed to be interested in Thomas Tuchel's job at the Allianz Arena.
The German tactician has come under significant pressure, with the Bavarians currently five points behind Xabi Alonso's team, although club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has stated that their stance on Tuchel remains unchanged.
Dreesen admitted their defeat on Saturday was "deserved", but insisted the team will not give up their title hopes.
According to BILD Sport, Bayern's hierarchy might have something to consider amid suggestions Mourinho is learning the German language and would be "ready" if the managerial position became vacant.
The publication notes that Mourinho has previously expressed an interest in coaching the Bundesliga giants, although it remains unclear as to whether or not the six-time UEFA Champions League winners would hire him.
