Former Moroka Swallows goalkeeper Sanele Tshabalala is still with Mamelodi Sundowns, with the club looking at the possibility of giving him a chance.
This publication reported towards the end of last year that the player had been training with the Brazilians and he was part of the team that was in Polokwane recently for a mid-season pre-season camp to prepare for the second half of the campaign.
The Tshwane giants also had their new signings, Matias Esquivel, Tashreeq Matthews, Zuko Mdunyelwa and Thembinkosi Lorch, during their tour of Polokwane. Tshabalala, a former junior international, has been without a club since parting ways with Swallows FC (now Moroka Swallows) at the end of last season and was given an opportunity to train with the side at Chloorkop.
It's unclear at this stage if the six-time consecutive league winners have made an offer to have the 25-year-old on board, but chances of him playing would be slim with so much quality in the goalkeeping department at the club.
However, it is an incredible show of faith in a young player by head coach Rhulani Mokwena, and this could be with an eye on the future.
Ronwen Williams, Denis Onyango, Reyaad Pieterse and Jody February are the options the head coach has at his disposal at the moment, while there is a possibility that Ricardo Goss will return to the Africa Football League champions when his loan spell with rivals SuperSport United expires at the end of the campaign.
