2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema is reportedly trapped in Mauritius amid reports that he is being considered by Manchester United.
According to various reports, the French striker could leave Al Ittihad following his recent troubles at the club. It is understood that the player did not show up for the team's training camp during their mid-season break from Saudi Pro League duties.
As such, his manager Marcelo Gallardo has instructed the player not to travel with the group for their warm-up camp. Further Spanish outlet Marca claims that the former Real Madrid talisman missed training on three occasions before the turn of the year, making him an unpopular figure among the fans and some of his teammates.

To add to his woes, Marca claims that Benzema is now stuck in Mauritius due to a class one cyclone. The report claims that the 36-year-old was epxected to be back in Saudi Arabia on Friday before flying out with the team to Dubai for the mid-season camp.
It also said to be unclear when he will make the trip as weather conditions are expected to intensify in the next few days.
Nevertheless, other reports suggest that his time in the Saudi Pro League could come to an end by the end of his this month, as two of his former clubs Olympique Lyon and Real Madrid are rumoured to be considering a move as well.
The Red Devils are also rumoured to be contemplating a move, however, no formal approach has been made yet. Fichajes claims that Benzema is viewed as a valuable potential reinforcement to strengthen the squad and increase competition for Danish centre-forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Man United have scored 24 goals in the Premier League so far, with ony Sheffield United, Burnley, and Crystal Palace having scored fewer at this stage.
