The final top 10 ranking for the Ballon d'Or 2023 has been confirmed following a ceremony in Paris on Monday night, with a certain African striker making history for his country.

While it was Inter Miami's Lionel Messi who claimed football's most prestigious individual accolade, the final top 10 standing has been revealed.
Real Madrid's Luka Modric, who claimed the Ballon d'Or in 2018, finished in 10th place after he helped inspire his club to Copa del Rey, FIFA Club World Cup and European Super Cup success, and Croatia to a third-place finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Erling Haaland, meanwhile, was joined by a number of colleagues in the list, including midfielder Bernardo Silva, while Napoli's Victor Osimhen became the first Nigerian forward to finish in the top 10.
The striker, now 24, scored an incredible 31 goals in 39 matches last season for the Serie A champions, leaving many of the world's biggest clubs interested in his signature.
Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe finished third, ahead of Kevin De Bruyne, while Vinicius Junior claimed sixth place.
